Robert Carl Blank, born in 1975 near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, is a German singer of Czech descent known for his work in acoustic blues. Blank began writing and arranging songs at 16, influenced by Frank Zappa. In 1996, he started performing with various bands in the Rhein-Main region. A pivotal moment came in 1997 when he toured with Carl Weathersby as a guitarist following a stint in Chicago. Blank co-founded the band Boxer in 1998, contributing to their debut album Stick Together. The group opened for notable artists such as Elton John and Whitney Houston. After a hiatus, Blank released his first solo album Steps in September 2003, reaching the final of the PRINZ Talentwettbewerb in the singing category and winning the Festival der StraÃenkünste in the Solo Act category. His subsequent albums include Soul Circus (2008), Last Time I Saw Dave (2010), and The Poet (2019).
