Biography

Guy Davis, born May 12, 1952 in New York City, is an American blues guitarist and singer. He taught himself guitar and learned banjo at a summer camp run by John Seeger. Davis' early acting roles included the film Beat Street and television series One Life to Live. His music career began with the release of his debut album Stomp Down Rider in 1995, followed by Call Down The Thunder in 1996. He has released numerous albums including Butt Naked Free, Give In Kind, and Chocolate To The Bone. Davis' work includes collaborations with notable musicians such as Levon Helm and Carly Simon, and he has been nominated for ten Blues Music Awards. His album Legacy was recognized as one of the best CDs of 2004.
