Biography

Regaliz (formed 1980, in Barcelona) was a Spanish children’s music ensemble. The quartet consisted of Jaime Bénet, Eduardo Navarrete, Astrid Fenollar, and Eva Mariol. Established by Discos Belter to follow the success of Parchís, the group debuted on the television program Sabadabada with the song "El disc-jockey campeón (Horacio... ¿Qué, qué, qué?)". Its first recording appeared on the album Las Aventuras de Guillermo (1980), followed by the self-titled debut Regaliz (1980). The discography featured versions of tracks including "Que no pare la música" and "Juanita Banana". Regaliz starred in the films La rebelión de los pájaros (1982) and Buenas noches, señor monstruo (1982), recording the soundtracks for both productions. Songs from these projects included "Qué bonito mundo" and "Buenas noches, señor monstruo". The ensemble became inactive in 1983. Fenollar died on 9 July 2025.
