Biography

Bruno Canzian, known professionally as Red Canzian, was born on November 30, 1951, in Quinto di Treviso, Italy. He started his musical career as a guitarist and later became a bass player. In the early 1970s, he formed the progressive rock band Capsicum Red (initially known as Prototipi), which gained popularity with singles like "Ocean" and "Tarzan." Canzian joined Pooh in February 1973 as their bassist, following Riccardo Fogli's departure. With Pooh, he released numerous successful albums and singles, engaging in extensive concert tours. In 1986, Canzian released his first solo album, Io e Red, featuring a duet with Loredana Bertè. He also produced music for artists like Gianni Togni. After Pooh disbanded in 2016 following their 50th-anniversary tour, Canzian signed a new record deal with BMG and made his solo debut at the Sanremo Festival in 2018.
