Biography

Carlton Ray Scott, known professionally as Ray Scott, is an American country music singer born in 1969 in Semora, North Carolina. He started his musical career in the 1980s with a rock band and later earned a degree from the Music Business Institute in Atlanta. After moving to Nashville, Scott signed with producer Tom Collins and achieved early successes as a songwriter for Randy Travis' "Pray for the Fish" (2002) and Clay Walker's "A Few Questions" (2003). He released his debut album My Kind Of Music in 2005. Following disagreements with Warner Records, Scott founded Jethropolitan Records and continued to release albums independently, including Rayality (2012) and Ray Scott (2014).
