Raquel SofÃa Borges, known professionally as Raquel SofÃa, was born on August 12, 1987, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She is a singer-songwriter who graduated from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. In 2014, she launched her solo career with the single "Agridulce", which garnered over 9.7 million streams on streaming platforms. Raquel SofÃa signed to Sony Music Latin and released her debut EP Te Odio los Sábados and her first studio album Te Quiero los Domingos in 2015, the latter reaching Number 1 on the Latin charts. She received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 16th Latin Grammy Awards that year. In January 2018, she presented her second album 2:00 am, which was nominated for Best Singer-Songwriter Album at the 2018 Latin Grammy Awards and Best Latin Pop Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. She followed this success over the next few years with other well-received releases such as Lecciones de una Vida Cagándola en el Amor (2022), the live album 9 Vidas (2023), and Después de los 30 (2025). The merengue-infused single "Mi Corazón Es Grande," also released in 2025, quickly became one of her most popular tracks.
