After early acting roles and a brief filmmaking course, Anderson turned to music in 2013, signing with Columbia Records and releasing the free EP The Middle Child followed by the 2014 EP Black and Blue. The single "Stronger Than Ever" from that EP reached Number 30 on the UK Singles Chart in June 2014 and was later remixed by MJ Cole. In 2015 he released the remix EP The Greatest and the single "The Greatest", while also supporting George Ezra on tour. Anderson’s debut studio album, You're a Man Now, Boy, was issued on 26 February 2016 and entered the UK Albums Chart at Number 32. After a brief hiatus, he returned with the single "Aristocrats" in May 2020, leading to the release of his second album, Andy, on 26 June 2020. Subsequent singles "Say What You Mean" (July 2021) and "Lucky" followed, and in May 2024 he released "Love Is Dumb" ahead of the EP Dead Ends and Diversions, issued 26 July 2024. The EP includes previously unreleased tracks and recordings from a live‑stream event, and Anderson supported it with two sold‑out shows at Outernet London in late July 2024.
