Biography

Raffaele Riefoli, known professionally as Raf, was born on September 29, 1959, in Margherita di Savoia, Italy. He began his music career with the album Self Control in 1984, which became a significant breakthrough. The same year, Laura Branigan covered the title track, achieving equal success. Raf's career includes notable achievements and collaborations. In 1987, he wrote "Si può dare di più", which won the Festival of Sanremo. He participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1987 with Umberto Tozzi for "Gente di mare", securing third place. Raf won the Festivalbar in 1989 and 1993. In 1988, he debuted at the Festival of Sanremo with "Inevitabile follia". His subsequent album Svegliarsi un anno fa featured the hit single "Il sapore di un bacio". In 1995, Raf released Manifesto, which included the successful singles "Sei la più bella del mondo" and "Il suono c'è". He also contributed to Laura Pausini's debut with a duet on "Mi rubi l'anima" in 1993. His album Cannibali featured hits like "Il battito animale", "Due", and "Stai con me". In the 2000s, Raf released albums such as Iperbole, which included the single "Infinito". His album Numeri in 2011 reached Number one on iTunes.
