Rachel Stamp, an English rock band formed in London in 1994, began with founding members David Ryder Prangley (bass and vocals), Will Crewdson (lead guitar), and later joined by Cliff Harris and Mike Rowe. Their early output included the 1996 single "Pop Singer" and the EP Bring Me The Head Of ... released on 11 November 1996, establishing a presence in the underground scene. The band signed to WEA Records but were dropped before a planned album; subsequently, Harris and Rowe departed, and the group released material through their own label Bitch Vinyl, gaining coverage in Kerrang!, Melody Maker, and Metal Hammer. In 2000, the debut album Hymns For Strange Children was recorded with producer John Fryer, topped the NME Independent Chart, and was followed by the single "Black Cherry" whose video received airplay on VH1. The 2002 album Oceans Of Venus was issued in the UK, the US, and Germany, and the band toured internationally, including the ‘United II’ tour. After a period of inactivity, a 2009 compilation Now I'm Nailed To Your Bedroom Wall, I've Only Got My Own To Blame was released and supported by a short UK tour. Drummer Robin Guy, who rejoined for the 2009 show, passed away from cancer on 12 September 2024, marking the end of the band’s active era.
