Q-Feel was a British newâwave synthpop group formed in England in 1981, led by bassist and vocalist Martin Page. The ensemble emerged from the early 1980s club scene, with Martin Page and guitarist Brian Fairweather, drummer Trevor Thornton, and keyboardist Chris Richardson collaborating on a highâenergy sound that blended electronic textures with rock instrumentation. Their debut single, "Doctor On The Radio", was released in 1981, followed by "Go For It" in 1982, which introduced the bandâs HiâNRG style. In 1982, Q-Feel issued a selfâtitled album, QâFeel, featuring the standout track "Dancing In Heaven (Orbital BeâBop)", which entered the UK preâselection for the Eurovision Song Contest that year and finished sixth. The single achieved notable airplay, particularly after its inclusion in the 1985 film Girls Just Want to Have Fun, and was heavily rotated by Los Angeles station 102.7 KIISâFM. Subsequent releases included "Cross Talk" (1982) and "Heroes Never Die" (1984). Following the groupâs dissolution, Martin Page pursued a successful songwriting career, contributing to hits such as âWe Built This Cityâ and âThese Dreamsâ, while Chris Richardson directed church choirs in London until his death in March 2019.
