Biography

Edwin Lionel Meadows, known professionally as Punky Meadows, was born on March 9, 1950, in Washington D.C., and is an American guitarist. He began playing guitar at Hart Junior High School and formed his first band, the Intruders, in 1964. The band evolved into the Cherry People, releasing their self-titled album The Cherry People in 1969. In 1975, Meadows co-founded Angel with Gregg Giuffria, Barry Brandt, and Frank DiMino. The band released several studio albums including Angel (1975), Helluva Band (1976), On Earth as It Is in Heaven (1977), White Hot (1978), and Sinful (1979). After Angel disbanded, Meadows retired from music for over a decade before returning with the solo album Fallen Angel in 2016.
