Gary Frederick Holton, born on September 22, 1952, in Clapham, London, England, was an English singer-songwriter and musician. He began a music career as the frontman of the glam rock band Heavy Metal Kids, which formed in 1972. The band's album, Heavy Metal Kids (1974), was well-received by the press but had limited sales. Holton collaborated with Casino Steel from 1981 to 1984, releasing several albums and singles, including "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town" (1981). Holton's albums included Sing It To Me (1989). He died on October 25, 1985, from an overdose of morphine combined with alcohol.
