Biography

Planet P Project is a musical project and pseudonym used by the American musician Tony Carey born on 20 October 1953 in Los Angeles. Carey achieved professional recognition for performing in the ensembles Blessings and Rainbow. After moving to West Germany, he established the project in 1983 with the producer Peter Hauke. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Planet P Project (1983). He achieved professional recognition for the track "Why Me?" (1983) which reached number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 on the Top Rock Tracks chart. His discography included the track "Static" (1983) which reached the Top Rock Tracks chart. He achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Pink World (1984) which reached number 121 on the Billboard 200. The recording featured the track "What I See" (1984) which reached number 25 on the Top Rock Tracks chart. After a hiatus he resumed activity in 2004, and released the studio recordings Go Out Dancing, Part I (1931) (2004), Go Out Dancing, Part II (Levittown) (2008), and Go Out Dancing, Part III (Out in the Rain) (2009). His recording career included the studio recording Steeltown (2013) and the compilation The G.O.D.B.O.X. (2014).
