Piet Klocke is a German musician, cabaret artist, and actor who was born as Peter Klocke in Essen, Germany, in 1948. He achieved early professional recognition as a member of the music-theater ensemble Kamikaze Orkester and is famous for his eccentric trademark role as Professor Schmitt-Hindemith. Klocke studied in Bonn before moving to Amsterdam, where he performed as a guitarist in various funk and soul ensembles. His discography includes the solo studio recordings Oâlala (1982), Sklaven der Liebe (1983), and Life Is a Sample (1988), alongside the singles âHua Hua Tschy Tschyâ (1983) and âLuderâ (1997). He has composed music for more than 35 film and television productions, including the thriller Der Leibwächter (1989) and the feature Peng! Du bist tot! (1987). His work in cabaret has been recognized with awards including the Goldener Löwe (1998) and the Bavarian Cabaret Prize (1999).
