Johnny Lynch, born on September 28, 1981, in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a British musician known by his pseudonym Pictish Trail. He began performing under this name in 2002, releasing his first album The Pictish Trail on Fence Records in 2003. After graduating from the University of St Andrews, Johnny Lynch ran Fence Records until 2013 and subsequently founded Lost Map Records. His debut album Secret Soundz Vol. 1 was released in September 2008 to critical acclaim. In 2010, he collaborated with Adem Ilhan under the name Silver Columns for an album release and tour. Pictish Trail has been a regular performer at the Green Man Festival since its inception in 2003. He also supported KT Tunstall on her European tours in 2010-2011 and 2017. His subsequent albums include Secret Soundz Vol. 2 (2013), Future Echoes (2016), Thumb World (2020), Island Family (2022), and Life Slime (2026).
