Phoenix Rising, originally known as Quinta Enmienda, was formed in 2007 in Alcorcón, Spain. The power metal band gained initial recognition by winning a local music contest and releasing their first demo. In 2010, they released their debut album Ne Bis In Idem under the guidance of producer Fernando Asensi. Following this, Quinta Enmienda changed their name to Phoenix Rising in 2011 to pursue an international career. Their next album, MMXII, was released in 2012 and featured both Spanish and English versions. The band signed with Japanese label Hydrant Music, which helped promote the album internationally. In September 2014, they released their third studio album, Versus. After a hiatus, Phoenix Rising returned to the studio in 2018 to record Acta Est Fabula, an album concept released in late 2021 under Wormholedeath Records.
