Philip Paul Brisco Miller, born on January 22, 1949 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, was an English guitarist and a key figure in the Canterbury music scene. Self-taught on guitar, Miller formed his first band, Delivery, at age 17, which backed blues musicians at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. In the 1970s, he co-founded several influential bands including Matching Mole, Hatfield and the North, and National Health. Throughout his career, Miller released notable solo albums such as Digging In (2000), Conspiracy Theories (2007), Recent Discoveries (2007), Live in Japan (2007), and All That (2009). He also collaborated with various artists, including Short Wave and In Cahoots. Miller toured extensively, notably reuniting with Hatfield and the North in 2005 and 2006. He passed away on October 18, 2017, in London from cancer.
