Biography

Blodwyn Pig was a British blues rock band founded in 1968 by Mick Abrahams. The group included Jack Lancaster on saxophone and flute, Andy Pyle on bass guitar, and Ron Berg on drums. After Mick Abrahams left Jethro Tull following their debut album This Was, Blodwyn Pig released two albums: Ahead Rings Out in 1969 and Getting to This in 1970. Both reached the Top Ten of the UK Albums Chart and charted in the United States. The band's single "Summer Day" gained popularity on the underground concert circuit. After Mick Abrahams left due to disillusionment with the music industry, Blodwyn Pig reformed several times over the years, recording additional albums in the 1990s.
