Peter Ross Gregson was born on 20 January 1987 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and emerged as a British cellist, composer and synthesizer player. He began his career with the release of Terminal in 2010, followed by the collaborative Gregson/Richter/Johannsson in 2011, which introduced him to the European classical circuit. Over the next decade he issued a steady stream of projects, including Bach: The Cello Suites â Recomposed by Peter Gregson (2018), Quartets: One (2017) and Quartets: Two (2017), all under the Deutsche Grammophon label, and the film score A Little Chaos (2015). His work with Max Richter and Johann Johannson in the early 2010s positioned him within the minimalist and classical crossover movement, while the 2021 release Patina highlighted his synthesizer integration. Peter Gregson continued to release new material into 2026, with Bridgerton & Beyond (2026) and Portraits (2026), maintaining a presence on classical and contemporary charts without attaining major commercial awards.
