Peter Finger, born on October 11, 1954, in Weimar, Germany, is a guitarist, publisher, and guitar maker. He began his musical journey at age six with violin lessons, later switching to piano and guitar. His breakthrough came when American guitarist Stefan Grossman signed him to Kicking Mule Records at the age of 19. The subsequent release of Bottleneck Guitar Solos (1974) brought international recognition. Throughout the 1980s, Finger released albums like Im Labyrinth (1982) and Niemandsland (1988), collaborating with Florian Poser for the former. In 1988, he founded Acoustic Music Records, focusing on German acoustic music. Subsequent releases included Solo (1993), Between the Lines (1995), and Open Strings (1999). Finger's awards also include the Ernst-Fischer-Preis for Orchestermusik in 1982 and the Niedersächsischer Musikpreis in 2003.
