Pete Kelly's Big Seven was a jazz group that was created for Pete Kelly's Blues, an American crime-musical radio drama that aired on NBC from July 4 to September 19, 1951. The series featured Jack Webb as Pete Kelly and included well-known musicians such as cornet player Dick Cathcart. Despite its brief three-month run, the series served as the basis for the 1955 film Pete Kelly's Blues, with Jack Webb producing, directing, and starring. Many of the original musicians returned for the film, including Cathcart, while Ella Fitzgerald portrayed Maggie Jackson. Their discography includes Pete Kelly at Home (1957) and the soundtrack album Pete Kelly's Blues (1959).
