Pedro Camargo Mariano was born on April 18, 1975, in São Paulo, Brazil. He is the son of renowned singer Elis Regina and pianist César Camargo Mariano, making him the brother of singer Maria Rita and half-brother to producer João Marcello Bôscoli. His musical journey began at the age of 12, performing on stage with members of his family. He later joined the band Confraria, who had a successful run for several years. In 1994, Pedro Mariano embarked on a solo career, leaving Confraria to focus on his own music. His first recording came in 1995 as part of the project João Marcello Bôscoli & Cia. Two years later, in 1997, he released his self-titled debut album, which included reinterpretations of classic songs by artists such as Tom Jobim and Roberto Carlos. His second album, Voz no Ouvido (2000), earned him his first gold record. It also received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Brazilian Pop. In 2003, he collaborated with his father on the CD and DVD Piano e Voz. Pedro Mariano's work in television includes participating in the Som Brasil Cazuza project in 1999 and performing the theme for the show Ilha Rá-Tim-Bum in 2003. In 2011, he achieved full independence in the music industry with the release of his eighth album under his own label, Nau. He later released the album Pedro Mariano e Orquesta (2014), where he was backed by a full orchestra.
