Biography

Peaking Lights is an American psychedelic pop duo formed in 2008 in San Francisco, California. The group consists of husband and wife Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis, who met in 2006. After residing in Spring Green and Madison, Wisconsin, the couple moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and eventually relocated to Amsterdam. To fund a road trip to Texas, the duo self-released the CD-R Clearvoiant in 2008. They released their debut studio album, Imaginary Falcons, in 2009, followed by 936 in 2011 on the Weird World and Not Not Fun labels. Subsequent studio albums include Lucifer in 2012, Cosmic Logic in 2014, and The Fifth State of Consciousness in 2017. Their son, Mikko, contributed vocals to Lucifer, and their second son, Marlon, was born in 2013. In 2013, the group contributed to The Flaming Lips' reworking of the Stone Roses' debut album. In 2019, Peaking Lights collaborated with Lee "Scratch" Perry on the 12-inch record “Life of the Plants”. The duo released the album E S C A P E in 2020.
