Pekka Juhani "Pave" Maijanen was born in September 1950, in Lappeenranta, Finland. He began playing music at age six and started his career in the 1960s with bands like Mielikummitus. His first solo single, "Fever", was released in 1975. Maijanen's versatile career included roles as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer, working with bands such as The Royals, Pepe & Paradise, and Dingo. He produced notable albums like Nuclear Nightclub by Wigwam and had solo successes with Maijanen (1984) and Palava sydän (1985). Maijanen faced career challenges in the 1990s but returned to prominence with the band Mestarit Areenalla. He revealed his ALS diagnosis in September 2020 and passed away on January 16, 2021, at age 70.
