Biography

Paul Cresey, born December 20, 1989 in Edmonton, Alberta, is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He received his first acoustic guitar at age 10 but did not start playing until he was given a left-handed guitar at 12. Paul Cresey's initial performances were with bands like The Lefties and Four Leaf Clover, focusing on acoustic and classic rock covers. His breakthrough moment came during a talent show at Kenilworth Junior High School, which reignited his interest in performing. Paul Cresey released his debut album Piece the Picture in October 2007, which gained significant local attention. The Edmonton Journal described it as "a diverse album with blues, Celtic and pop-folk angles." He followed this with When Beauty Has Passed (2009) and Paul Cresey (2015). Notable achievements include being featured on CKUA Radio Alberta's Under-22 Songwriters’ Circle and receiving a nomination for Young Performer of the Year at the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
