Ned Collette, born in Carlton, Australia, is a singer-songwriter, producer and instrumentalist. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in improvised music from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2000. Collette formed City City City, an improvisational band, and recorded two albums before releasing his debut solo album Jokes & Trials in July 2006. He performed with Bill Callahan and The National, and toured Europe with Joanna Newsom and Camera Obscura. His second album, Future Suture, was released in September 2007. Collette then formed Ned Collette & Wirewalker, releasing Over the Stones, Under the Stars in October 2009, which received favorable critical reception. The band's second album, titled 2, was released on May 11, 2012, through Dot Dash/Remote Control and Fire Records worldwide. Collette moved to Berlin in early 2010 and continued touring throughout Europe. Notable releases include Old Chestnut (2018) and Our Other History (2024).
