Biography

An English acoustic trio from Exeter, Devon formed by sisters Beth and Emillie Key and their cousin Meghann Loney, Wildwood Kin were harmonising and singing along to hits of the day on the radio from an early age. Inspired by everyone from James Taylor and Bob Dylan to Fleetwood Mac and Mumford & Sons, they developed a melodic, harmonic style with freshness and vitality, creating a powerful Anglo Americana mix as they cut their teeth at open mic sessions. Featuring Beth on bouzuki and keyboards, Emillie on guitar and Meghann on drums, it was their close harmony vocals that became their calling card. Developing as powerful songwriters, they soon made their mark on the British folk scene following the release of their debut EP 'Salt of the Earth' in 2015. It won them an influential nomination for the BBC Young Folk Award which led to major festival appearances at Glastonbury, Cambridge, Hyde Park and Beautiful Days. There were also support tours with Oh Hellos and Seth Lakeman and they collaborated with Lakeman on his hit album 'Ballads of the Broken Few'. In 2017 they won the Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award at the newly instituted UK Americana Awards, while releasing their debut album 'Turning Tides' and in 2018 featured on a revived 'Old Grey Whistle Test', playing their single 'Steady My Heart'.
