Biography

Soprano singer Patricia Petibon made her professional debut in Paris in 1996 after being discovered by American conductor William Christie. She performed at the Opéra de Paris in Jean-Philippe Rameau's 'Hippolyte et Aricie' and followed with the roles of Blonde in Mozart's 'Entführung aus dem Serail' and Sophie in 'Der Rosenkavalier'. Throughout her career, Petibon has worked with renowned orchestras around the world including Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Opéra Bastille, Vienna State Opera and Munich Philharmonic. She began taking up Baroque roles including Ginevra in Handel's 'Ariodante' and Amor in Gluck's 'Orphée et Eurydice', becoming well known for her performance of Zelmira in Haydn's 'Armida'. Signing to Deutsche Grammophon in 2008, she released 'Amoureuses' featuring works by Mozart, Haydn and Gluck. She followed up with 'Rosso: Italian Baroque Arias' in 2010, 'Melancolia: Spanish Arias and Songs' in 2011 and 'La Belle Excentrique' with Susan Manoff in 2014. She signed to Sony Classical in 2017 and in 2020 performed in Debussy's 'Pelléas et Mélisande' at Teatro alla Scala.
