Biography
Pablo Held, born on December 27, 1986, in Herdecke, Germany, is a jazz pianist and composer. He began playing piano at age ten and studied jazz piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, graduating with distinction. Held's career took off with the formation of his trio in 2005, featuring Robert Landfermann and Jonas Burgwinkel. Their album Forest Of Oblivion was released in 2008, followed by critically acclaimed albums Music (2010) and Glow (2011). Held collaborated with notable artists such as John Scofield and Chris Potter, and his work was featured on over 20 recordings. He performed extensively across Europe, North America, and South America, and received several awards, including the Westfalen-Jazzpreis in 2009 and the WDR-Jazzpreis for Improvisation in 2011.
