Biography

Owen Temple, born September 4, 1976 in Kerrville, Texas, is an American singer known for his work in folk and country music. His early career included collaborations with producer Lloyd Maines, resulting in the releases of General Store (1997) and Passing Through (1999). In 2002, Temple released Right Here And Now, produced by Phil Madeira. He achieved notable success as a Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist and a winner of the B.W. Stevenson Songwriting Competition in 2007. His album Dollars and Dimes (2009), a concept album about North America during hard times, reached Number 1 on the Euro Americana Chart in July 2009 and number 5 on the Freeform American Roots chart in August 2009. He became a finalist again at the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk in 2011. Temple's subsequent albums include Mountain Home (2011) and Rings On A Tree (2023).
