Cooder Graw, a country music group from Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, formed in 1998. The band initially consisted of members ranging from their late-30s to early-50s, including singer Matt Martindale, who was an assistant district attorney, and guitarist Kelly Turner, a manager of a manufacturing plant. Their debut album, Home at the Golden Light, released in 1998, featured mostly covers and was self-produced with executive producer credit given to Matthew McConaughey. The band's first national release, Cooder Graw, followed in late 1999. Cooder Graw toured extensively throughout Texas and the United States, opening for artists like Willie Nelson and Alabama. The group disbanded in 2006 but reunited in 2012 for a tour. Notable albums include Segundo, released on 2001, and Love to Live By, released on 2016.
