Over the Rhine, an American musical group from Cincinnati, Ohio, was formed in 1989 by Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist. The band initially included Ric Hordinski and Brian Kelley. Over the Rhine released their first two albums independently before signing with I.R.S. Records in 1992. Their third album, Eve, was released to critical acclaim in 1994. After leaving I.R.S., they independently released Good Dog Bad Dog and The Darkest Night of the Year. In 2001, Over the Rhine signed with Virgin Records/Back Porch and released Films for Radio. They gained significant recognition with their double album Ohio, which Paste magazine listed as number 26 of "The 50 Best Albums of the 2000s". The band's subsequent albums include Drunkard's Prayer (2005), Meet Me at the Edge of the World (2013). Over the Rhine has shared the stage with notable artists such as Bob Dylan and John Prine.
