Biography

Oscar Antonio Moretta, known professionally as Oscar Larroca, was born on July 5, 1922, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied guitar at the National Conservatory for Music before transitioning to singing and debuting in the early 1940s on Radio Mitre's "Juan Manuel's Famous Matinee" program. In 1945, he met bandoneon player and composer Domingo Federico, which led to Larroca recording his first song with fellow singer Carlos Vidal, titled "Voz de Barrio". Larroca joined Alfredo de Ángelis' orchestra in 1951, achieving success with hits like "Por Qué Me Das Dique." He toured extensively across Latin America and appeared on notable television programs. As a composer, he contributed songs like "Juana Milonga Señora" and "No Me Dejes Corazón". Larroca passed away on August 26, 1976.
