Biography

Olga Konkova, born Olga Konkova on August 25, 1969, in Moscow, is a Russian-Norwegian jazz pianist. She began her musical journey as a classical pianist in Moscow before transitioning to jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she met her husband, bassist Per Mathisen. After moving to Oslo in 1994, Konkova collaborated with various ensembles, including Inge Stangvik Quartet and Storeslem Big Band. Her debut album, Going With the Flow, was released in 1997. She formed Olga Konkova Trio with Mathisen on bass and various drummers, releasing notable albums such as The Goldilocks Zone (2015), Moscow Tears: Live At Bird's Eye Basel (2020), and Open Secret (2021). Konkova has also collaborated with artists like Finn Hauge, Magni Wentzel, and Hans Mathisen. Konkova also released her own albums, such as Return Journey in 2011 and The Pianist's Garden in 2024.
