Biography

Okan Ersan, born on April 27, 1972, in Cyprus, is a Turkish Cypriot jazz fusion guitarist, composer, and record artist. He began playing guitar and piano at a young age, influenced by his musician father, and earned his music degree from Marmara University's Music Academy in Istanbul in 1994. Ersan gained recognition in 2003 when his debut album To Whom It May Concern placed him among the top five guitarists of the year by British magazine Guitarist, and he later released this album in 2004. He signed with a record company in 2005 and performed at the Kansas City Jazz Festival with Billy Paul. In 2011, Ersan released A Reborn Journey, featuring collaborations with Dave Weckl, Ernie Watts, and Ola Onabule. His subsequent album, Nibiru, was released in 2019. Throughout his career, Ersan has performed with notable artists such as Al Di Meola, Robben Ford, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, and Joe Lynn Turner.
