Biography

O'Hooley & Tidow, a British folk music duo from Yorkshire, was formed in 2009 by singer-songwriters Belinda O'Hooley and Heidi Tidow. The pair met in Huddersfield in 2005 and began performing together shortly after. Their debut album Silent June was released on February 22, 2010 to critical acclaim, including a four-star review in the Financial Times. In November 2011, they released their first single "The Last Polar Bear" from their second album The Fragile, which featured collaborations with Andy Cutting and Jackie Oates. The album included the track "Gentleman Jack", which became the closing theme for the BBC/HBO television series Gentleman Jack from 2019 to 2022. Their subsequent albums include Shadows (July 29, 2016), which received a five-star review in The Guardian, and WinterFolk Volume 1 (November 3, 2017). O'Hooley & Tidow were nominated for Best Duo at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
