O.B.F., an acronym for Original Bass Foundation, is a French sound system from Geneva, Switzerland, that formed in 2000. The group was founded by Rico, Operator G, and Stef, who were influenced by Jamaican reggae and 1990s British dub. They originated from organizing free parties in a building known as L'usine and were introduced to classic reggae artists by the promoter Asher Selector. They achieved a breakthrough in 2013 with the release of the single âWicked Haffi Runâ (2013) and the EP System Ruff / Stop Them (2013). Their debut studio album, Wild, was released in 2014 through their own label, Dubquake Records. Their discography includes the studio albums Ghetto Cycle (2018), Signz (2020), and Lava (2022). Their music features lyrics in English, French, and Spanish and often addresses activist and social themes.
