Biography

Heart of the Congos has long been a mythical album for many reggae fans. It was almost a "lost" album, as contractual problems prevented it from being reissued before 1996, even though it dates back to 1977. The Congos themselves ceased to exist before reforming in 1994. Since then, Cedric Myton's band has released the highly esteemed Give Them the Rights in 2005 and Fisherman Style in 2006, a "one-riddim" album based on the title track "Fisherman", with sublime versions by Horace Andy, Big Youth, Dillinger, Prince Jazzbo, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Gregory Isaacs, Max Romeo, Mykal Rose, Dean Fraser, Sugar Minott, and U-Roy.
