Biography

Nuttin' But Stringz, also known as N.B.S., was a duo consisting of Tourie and Damien Escobar, both violinists from Jamaica, Queens. They began studying violin at young ages and eventually attended the Juilliard School. In 2005, they won a talent competition at the Apollo Theatre in New York, leading to appearances on major talk shows. Their debut album, Struggle from the Subway to the Charts, was released in 2006 on Koch Records. Notable songs include "Thunder", which was featured in various media outlets including the dance movie Step Up and CBS's coverage of the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Nuttin' But Stringz collaborated with numerous artists, including Al Jarreau, Akon, Aretha Franklin, and Justin Bieber. They gained national attention through their appearance on NBC's America's Got Talent, placing third in the third season. Their music has sold platinum. The duo has been inactive since 2012.
