Biography
Nuno Mindelis is an Angolan-born Brazilian blues guitarist and singer-songwriter. Born in 1957 in Cabinda, Angola, he began building and playing self-made guitars at age nine. His early musical influences included Otis Redding and Booker T. & the MG's. In 1990, his independent recordings began receiving airplay on local radio stations. Mindelis released his debut album Blues & Derivados in 1989. His recording history included the albums Long Distance Blues (1992) and Texas Bound (1996), the latter of which reached number 12 on the sales charts in Benelux. Mindelis collaborated with the band Double Trouble on the album Blues on the Outside (1999) and with Duke Robillard on the recording Angels & Clowns (2013). In 2018, he headlined the Suwalki Blues Festival in Poland. Mindelis released the tribute album Angola Blues in 2020, which featured the single âCabindaâ.
