Nothing,Nowhere is the brainchild of American singer-songwriter and rapper Joe Mulherin (June 4, 1992), who gained notoriety thanks to his emo-infused blend of trap and indie rock. Hailing from Foxborough, Massachusetts, Mulherin picked up the guitar at the age of 12, playing emo-style covers of famous rap songs, and took part in a couple of short-lived bands up until his twenties, when he decided to finally go solo. In 2015, Mulherin debuted the Nothing,Nowhere moniker with a handful of tracks on his streaming channel and released his self-produced first album, The Nothing,Nowhere LP. Recorded in Mulherinâs parentâs basement, the EP Bummer also arrived in 2015 and was followed closely by a second EP titled Where Are You? in 2016. After signing with Pete Wentzâs DCD2 Records, the emo rapper had his breakthrough moment with the critically-acclaimed Reaper (2017), which featured guest spots by Dashboard Confessional and Lil West. Hot on the heels of his successful sophomore effort, Mulherin moved labels for 2018âs Ruiner, released by Fueled by Ramen, and teamed up with blink-182âs Travis Barker for the collaborative EP Bloodlust (2019). Further singles âNightmare,â âDeath,â âLights (4444),â âPretend,â âBlood,â and âFake Friendsâ all saw the light in 2020 and preceded the release of Mulherinâs fourth full-length, 2021âs Trauma Factory.
