Biography

In Tijuana (Baja California), two worlds collide more than they meet in one of the world's most dangerous and violent cities. It was here, in 2001, that the Nortec Collective was born, the result of the desire of four Mexican producers to produce original music. Nortec Collective takes norteña or ranchera music, typical of northern Mexico, and applies to it the imagination of electro effects. This piquant enchillada-like blend exploded on The Tijuana Sessions, Vol.1 in 2002. After that, Nortec Collective got into the habit of multiplying, alternating between albums featuring two members of the entity and reunions of the whole family. 2008's Tijuana Sound Machine and 2011's Bulevar are credited to Bostich + Fussible, while 2010's Corridos Urbanos is the work of Clorofila. Whatever the case, Nortec Collective has succeeded in creating an entirely original electro style.
