Norman Langen, born Norman Langen on 7â¯Marchâ¯1985 in Würselen, Germany, is a German pop and Schlager singer. He began his musical journey in the early 2000s as a background vocalist for TAMO and later joined the boyband bexcess, which became Manhattan, performing under the name Sam Gâerome; he completed a twoâyear singing course at the Theater Aachen in 2002. Langenâs breakthrough came in 2011 when he participated in the eighth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, finishing seventh and gaining national exposure. He released his debut studio album Pures Gold in 2011 through Koch/Universal, featuring both original tracks and covers of Schlager classics, and entered the German Topâ¯50 and the Austrian Topâ¯75. The followâup album 100â¯% Norman was issued on 4â¯Januaryâ¯2013 and peaked at numberâ¯43 in Germany. After signing with Ariola in Marchâ¯2014, Langen released Wunderbar in Marchâ¯2015, which reached numberâ¯41 on the German album charts. His single "Wunderbar" (2015) and the collaboration "Au Revoir, Cherie" (2015) added to his discography. Langen has received several awards, including the 2011 SchlagerâSaphir for Best Newcomer, the 2011 BallermannâAward for Best Newcomer, and the 2011 SmagoâAward for Male Shooting Star of the Year. His career has continued with further releases and appearances, maintaining his presence in the German pop and Schlager scene.
