Nicola Conte, born 1962 in Bari, Apulia, Italy, is an Italian jazz DJ, composer, producer, guitarist, remixer, and sampler whose classical training underpinned a career that fused acid jazz with bossa nova, Italian film scores, easy listening, and Indian motifs. He first attracted attention with the 2000 album Jet Sounds, whose title track "Bossa per Due" became an underground hit and later featured in commercials for Acura and Joe Boxer. Nicola Conte followed with Other Directions (2004) on Blue Note/Schema, Rituals (2008) on Schema, and the two‑disc The Modern Sound of Nicola Conte – Versions in Jazz‑Dub (2009). Later releases include Love & Revolution (2011), Free Souls (2014), Let Your Light Shine On (2018), and his production work on Stefania Di Pierro’s Natural (2016). His recordings have earned international recognition within the acid and Latin jazz scenes, and he continues to record and perform worldwide. In 2026, he released the single "Terra Em Transe"/"Naquela Base", which reached number 98 on the UK's Physical Singles Sales chart.
