Nicky Wu, born on October 31, 1970, is a Taiwanese singer, actor, and producer who rose to fame in 1988 as a member of the iconic boy band Little Tigers. Discovered while running a street stall to support his family, he joined the group alongside Alec Su and Julian Chen, earning the nickname "Thunderbolt Tiger" (é¹éè). The band became a major success across Asia before being suspended in 1991 due to Chenâs military service. Wu then launched a solo career, releasing several Mandarin and Cantonese albums and extended plays between 1992 and 2003, with standout albums like Wind Chaser (1992), Hero (1997) and the extended play Nicky's Full Mandarin Video Record in 2003. His film breakthrough came with Tsui Harkâs The Lovers in 1994. After completing his own mandatory military service in 1997, Wu returned to acting and starred in the hit Hong Kong series At the Threshold of an Era (1999), before shifting his focus to television roles in mainland China, including Treasure Venture (2000) and Treasure Raiders (2002). In 2010, he reunited with Little Tigers for a special performance at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. His career saw a major revival with the 2011 Chinese drama Scarlet Heart, where his performance earned him renewed acclaim.
