Biography

Cheung Wai-kin, better known by his stage name Dicky Cheung, is a Hong Kong actor and singer born on February 8, 1965. Although he rose to fame as the Monkey King on the 1996 TVB drama Journey to the West, he had previously won several singing competitions and began his music career in 1992 with the release of his studio debut True False False. Other releases from that time include Out of Position (1993), Dream Lover (1995), and Hot Winter (1996). His career as a singer took off in the mid to late 1990s with albums such as God Knows (1996), I Don't Wanna Say Good-Bye (1998), Tear Saying (1998), and I Am (Not :) Dicky (2001). Following his breakthrough on Journey to the West, Dicky Cheung relocated to Taiwan and starred in numerous popular dramas, including Kung Fu Soccer (2004), Heroes of Sui and Tang Dynasties 1 & 2 (2012), and The Learning Curve of a Warlord (2018). In 2009, he formed the all-male Hong Kong music group The Big Four with Andy Hui, William So, and Edmond Leung. The Big Hits Big Four, their studio debut, was released in 2010 and featured the chart-topping hit singles "Big Four" and "Unable to Love."
