Biography

Núria Feliu i Mestres, born on September 21, 1941, in the Sants neighborhood of Barcelona, Spain, was a Spanish Catalan singer and actress. She began her career with theatrical performances before debuting as a singer in 1964 with the group Els Quatre Gats. Feliu released her first two albums, Anirem tots cap al cel and Gent, in 1965, joining the Nova Cançó movement. She collaborated with Tete Montoliu, releasing an LP with him in 1965 that established her as the first Catalan jazz singer. Her discography includes over 50 albums and more than 400 songs across various genres. Notable album releases include Senzillament (1968) and Més que mai (1985). Feliu received the Trofeu de l'any from Ràdio Barcelona in 1966 and the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1985. She retired in 2005 but made public appearances until her death in Barcelona on July 22, 2022.
