NAMA-OTO BAND is a Japanese ensemble led by acclaimed sound creator, singer-songwriter, and producer Takeshi Nakatsuka. Blending the sophistication of jazz with electronic textures, ska rhythms, and contemporary arrangements, the band reimagines classic Japanese music through an energetic live performance style. Bringing together a lineup of accomplished musicians, the group features Nakatsuka on vocals and keyboards alongside Kentaro Ishigaki (bass), Kaoru Suzuki (drums), Tomoko Okamura (saxophone), and Shinnosuke (trombone). Known for his genre-crossing work as a composer and producer, Nakatsuka formed NAMA-OTO BAND to celebrate timeless Japanese songs with fresh arrangements while showcasing the excitement and warmth of live instrumentation. The group's debut single, a ska-inspired cover of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Kiyoshiro Imawano's "Iã»KEã»NAã»I Rouge Magic,"(2026) A standout track is "AFRO 'LUPIN '68'" (2026), a dynamic reinterpretation of the theme originally composed by Takeo Yamashita.
