Mugstar, an English rock band formed in Liverpool, gained early attention with their debut single "Spotlight Over Memphis", which caught the ear of John Peel. This led to a Peel Session and subsequent releases including "Flavin' Hotrod" and a split 7-inch with Hunting Lodge in 2004. Their first album, Trail, was released in 2005, followed by Mugstar in 2006. The band's prolific output continued with albums such as ...Sun, Broken... and Lime, both in 2010. They collaborated with notable artists like Damo Suzuki and Mudhoney, and released the live album Start from Zero (2015). Their work also included the soundtrack for the film Ad Marginem, which they performed live to screenings in multiple locations.
