Biography

Victor Font, born in 1974 in the United States of America, is an American producer and vocalist known professionally as Mr. V. Raised in New York City, he was exposed early to house and hip-hop influences that shaped his sound. His career began in the early 1990s through collaborations with Louie Vega, which helped define his cross-genre approach. In 1994 he released the Give Me Life EP, followed by the album Welcome Home on Defected Records in 2006, which received a three-star review from The Skinny and was described by HX Magazine as a “study in the melting pot of Manhattan sounds.” The track “Da Bump” from that album reached number 2 on the UK Dance Chart in May 2007. Mr. V followed with the Put Your Drink Down EP in July 2007 and the album Put Your Drink Down later the same year. He released Night Lounge – After Midnight Selection – Volume 02 in October 2010 and the album It’s About You in November 2010. In 2013 he released “The Long Run” with Steve Bug, which received an 8/10 review in Mixmag, and in 2016 he collaborated with Roger Sanchez on the “6 AM” extended play, praised by Mixmag as “big club ammo of the highest order.”
